Strek je benen en geniet van het spectaculaire landschap
Voet aan land zetten op anders ontoegankelijke plaatsen is een essentieel onderdeel van expeditiereizen. Aan land gaan is inbegrepen bij alle expeditiecruises. Voor wie verder wil gaan dan de standaardgebieden, zijn wandeltochten of sneeuwschoenwandelingen geweldige activiteiten.
Sneeuwschoenwandelingen in Antarctica
Sneeuwschoenwandelingen zijn een unieke en meeslepende manier om de ongerepte landschappen van de poolgebieden te verkennen, vooral in Antarctica. De sneeuwschoenen worden geleverd door het expeditieteam en passen op je schoenen. Sneeuwschoenwandelen biedt toegang tot gebieden die te voet moeilijk bereikbaar zijn. Deelnemers kunnen met ijs bedekte landschappen verkennen, sneeuwvelden doorkruisen en genieten van panoramische uitzichten over het Antarctische landschap. Sneeuwschoenwandelen biedt je de kans om te genieten van de eenzaamheid van de poolomgeving. Je hebt geen ervaring nodig om mee te doen.
Wandelingen langs de kust
Wandelingen langs de kust zijn een geweldige manier om de natuur en het landschap van dichtbij te verkennen. De wandelingen kunnen gaan over sponzige toendra, korstige sneeuw, zandstranden en naar de top van uitkijkposten. De uitstapjes worden meestal aangeboden op verschillende activiteitenniveaus, variërend van een rustig tempo tot inspannende wandelingen. De wandelingen kunnen twee tot drie uur duren met voldoende tijd voor fotografie, leermomenten of gewoon tijd om achterover te leunen en te genieten van de ongelooflijke omgeving. Alle wandelingen worden geleid en begeleid door ervaren expeditiegidsen.
Expeditiecruises naar het Noordpoolgebied en Antarctica omvatten vaak ook mogelijkheden voor begeleide sneeuwschoenexcursies en -wandelingen, zodat je een veelzijdige ervaring hebt.

Hoewel sneeuwschoenwandelen over het algemeen wordt beschouwd als een matige fysieke activiteit, moeten deelnemers in goede gezondheid verkeren en voorbereid zijn op wandelen in verschillende weersomstandigheden.
Het type en de lengte van de wandelingen hangt sterk af van de bestemming en de specifieke landingsplaats. Het expeditieteam beslist wat de beste locatie is voor een wandeltocht en houdt daarbij rekening met het weer en de beschikbare tijd. Het is niet altijd mogelijk om op elke landing te wandelen. Soms is er te veel wild in de buurt of is het terrein gewoon niet geschikt om te wandelen.
Als je op zoek bent naar een expeditie met veel wandelmogelijkheden, neem dan contact met ons op. Sommige expedities zijn geschikter dan andere.
In het Noordpool- en Zuidpoolgebied is het niet toegestaan om alleen te wandelen. Je wordt altijd begeleid door een van de expeditiegidsen. We geven prioriteit aan verantwoord toerisme om de impact op de kwetsbare poolgebieden te minimaliseren. Van bezoekers wordt verwacht dat ze de richtlijnen volgen om het milieu en de wilde dieren te beschermen.
