Meet Le Commandant Charcot, the world’s first luxury icebreaker, taking guests to the most southern and northern latitudes of the planet in unrivalled comfort. Aboard Le Commandant Charcot, guests will experience brand new itineraries in regions usually inaccessible to other expedition ships because of the ice conditions. This includes voyages to the geographic north pole, the eastern coast of Greenland, the Northwest Passage, the Ross Sea, Weddell Sea and the Charcot and Peter I Islands.
Accomodating 270 guests in 135 luxury staterooms, including 31 balcony suites, the icebreaker Le Commandant Charcot offers an intimate yet refined atmosphere. You will find outstanding gastronomy in the two on board restaurants and great opportunities to unwind in the indoor pool, winter garden or the wellness area with sauna and ‘Snow Room’. For outdoor exploration there are 16 zodiacs to bring all guests ashore, as well as kayaks and equipment for scientific research, fishing and hiking activities on land.

Powered by Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) and hybrid propulsion, Le Commandant Charcot has been designed to minimise the environmental impact, which marks it for sustainable and responsible tourism. The ship is designed by two internationally renowned design and architecture firms to be in harmony with the environment.
