Andi Schwetz

Waterproof Guide

Born in Budapest and raised in Germany, Andi has always felt a powerful pull toward the ocean. From a young age, she was captivated by the grace, intelligence, and social bonds of whales, creatures that would later shape the course of her life.

Though she studied sociology, her true education came from the sea itself. After a decade of running her own cocktail bar, Andi followed her heart back to the water. As a passionate scuba and free-diver, she began traveling the world to encounter whales in their natural element. Humpbacks in the Pacific, orcas in the Arctic, sperm whales in the deep blue tropics, a few of many. Each encounter left her amazed and grateful, deepening her respect for nature and the invisible bonds that connect all living things.

For the past three years, Andi has worked as an expedition guide, sharing her love for marine and polar ecosystems with others. As a certified yoga instructor, she brings a mindful, heartcentered approach to her work, encouraging a slower, more intentional way of connecting with nature and oneself. For Andi, guiding is more than a profession, it’s a way of honoring the ocean, and inspiring others to care for the world that sustains us all.
