The ice-strengthened polar vessel Ushuaia is a great basic expedition ship for voyages to Antarctica.
MV Ushuaia
Originally built for the United States agency NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration), the ice-strengthened polar vessel Ushuaia is very well appointed for voyages to Antarctica. It provides ample deck space and an open bridge policy. The small fleet of zodiacs ensures superb landings and wildlife viewing opportunities on the otherwise inaccessible coastline. This ship operates exclusively during the Antarctic season.
The expert captain, officers and crew are highly experienced in Antarctic navigation and have a great love of nature. It is a specialist team of international expedition leaders and lecturers, all extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, helpful and dedicated to the protection of the environment. The chefs prepare excellent cuisine including many local specialties and the bar is well-stocked with carefully selected wines and spirits.
The expedition ship Ushuaia takes a maximum of 90 guests on board. This makes it one of the smaller vessels currently sailing in Antarctica. The interior of the public areas and cabins are neat yet simple. You will find all the basics you need for your stay on board. The Ushuaia often has very attractive prices and offers single travellers the possibility to book a spot in a shared triple or twin cabin.
