Whale Watching Expedition Cruises

Our Whale Watching cruises and expeditions are really made for those who want to have up-close encounters with whales in their natural habitat. Seeing a large whale breaching, blowing air and diving back down is a moment you will never forget! On most of these trips, the whales are our number one priority. We have voyages with small expedition ships where we sail in search of whales, and also land-based expeditions to see whales. During our 'Winter whales of Norway' expedition cruise we even go snorkeling with orcas!

Be sure to bring your binoculars, camera and plenty of batteries and memory on these trips as you will get the opportunity to photograph the whales. And whatever you do during the trip, keep your eyes on the water, you never know what will come up to the surface.

As with all wildlife safari's, there are no guarantees. But from our experience we know where the whales are often spotted and chances are good to find them. We will always do our utmost to see the whales!

Whale Watching in Norway

In Northern Norway we offer two types of whale watching cruises, operated by Waterproof Cruises & Expeditions. From the end of October until half of January we operate our Winter Whales of Norway snorkeling expeditions. For 6 full days we will travel through the fjords of Northern Norway to find orcas and humpback whales. When the conditions are safe enough to go in the water you will get the opportunity to snorkel with the whales and see their actions below the surface!
By the end of January, the orcas have usually left Northern Norway but it is still possible to spot some of the many resident whales that live in the area.

On previous voyages in Northern Norway we have encountered many humpback whales and orcas, but also minke whales, sperm whales and pilot whales are regularly spotted in this region.

Responsible Whale Watching

It is our goal to ensure safe and sustainable whale watching tours. Therefor we work together with certified companies, expert guides and an experienced crew. Participants will receive clear whale watching guidelines and safety instructions during the trip. We will also give lectures so that our guests will not only see the whales, but will also learn more about the them and their environment.
For safety reasons, we don't offer scuba diving on our whale watching voyages.
