MV Kinfish

MV Kinfish is a great expedition vessel for cruises to the Arctic. The ship was built in 1958 as a Norwegian research vessel and has recently been transformed into a classic boutique passenger ship. Her small size and convenient layout allow for great flexibility and access to hard to reach places. With room for just 12 guests you'll have a unique and intimate small group experience. MV Kinfish is also very well suited for photographers. The ship offers ample deck space from which you can admire the stunning Arctic landscapes in all directions. The deck spaces are spread over different levels, which is perfect if you want to capture the wildlife and scenery from different perspectives.

MV Kinfish - Interior

The ship offers five twin cabins and one triple cabin, all with ensuite facilities. The cabins are situated on the main and lower deck. On the main deck you find the dining and bar and adjacent the day room with TV and a media station. From here you have access to the mud room, the area where you can store your boots and outdoor clothing, and there is an exit to the aft deck.
The survey lounge is located on the 3rd deck level and serves as a lounge area annex lecture room and library. This room is often used for presentations and briefings by the guides but also offers great views of the surroundings through the large windows facing in three directions.
From the survey lounge you have easy access to the ship's bridge. This is a great place to scout for wildlife and to socialize with the crew and your fellow expedition members. The curious traveler is welcome to learn more about the systems and features used for navigation, communication and maneuvering of the ship.

MV Kinfish - Perfect for photography

One of the main features of MV Kinfish are the multiple outside decks from which you can admire the stunning Arctic landscapes in all directions. This is what makes the ship very well suited for photographers. The deck spaces are spread over different levels, which is perfect if you want to capture the wildlife and scenery from different perspectives.
On survey deck you can walk all around the superstructure which means there is always a leeward side. On the foredeck you have a great panoramic view of what’s ahead. Make your way up the stairs from the survey deck and you will get to the scenery deck which is on the 4th deck level. Make sure to bring your binoculars because this place is great for spotting wildlife in the distance.
For those who like an extra thrill, there are two large platforms in the main mast. From up here you have an incredible 360° overview of the surroundings. Getting up there is a slight challenge and you need a harness to climb the ladder, but it's well worth the price once you are up there!
