Mini Rooms (hotel rooms)

The Hamn i Senja mini rooms are located in the apartment buildings and have a private bath room with shower, toilet and hair dryer. Unfortunately there is no sea view from these rooms, they are therefore recommended for stays up to two days. The mini room offers space for max. 2 persons. The room has free wireless internet access and a TV. The room is 12 m2 incl. bathroom. 

Studio Bedrooms

Like the mini rooms, the studio bedrooms are located in the apartment buildings and have a private bathroom with shower, toilet and hair dryer. These rooms also have no view towards the harbour. Features of the studios are a kitchenette equipped for 4 people, free wireless internet connection and TV and an optional extra sofa bed (1,2m wide). The room is 23 m2 incl. bathroom.

Suites

The suites in Hamn i Senja have 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms with 2 beds each, and each bedroom has its own bathroom with a shower, toilet and hair dryer. The suites also include a lounge/living room, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, consisting of a microwave oven, electric kettle, toaster, fridge, freezer, oven, dishwasher, coffee press pot and utensils. The lounge/living room with TV, comfortable furniture and a dining table provides a beautiful view of the harbour and/or the sea and in the whole suite there is free wireless internet access. 

Apartments

The apartments are also for max. 6 persons and come with 2 or 3 bedrooms, who each have a private bathroom with a shower and toilet. They have modern facilities and a high standard with sizes ranging from 65-70 m2. One of the apartments is adjusted for disabled people. The facilities in the kitchen include a microwave oven, electric kettle, toaster, fridge, freezer, oven, dishwasher, coffee press pot and utensils. The lounge/living room with TV, comfortable furniture and a dining table provides a beautiful view of the harbour and free wireless internet access. Some apartments have a veranda.

Northern lights tours

The Aurora Borealis, one of natures most beautiful creations, is often visible at the island. You can choose from several options to enjoy the Northern lights in Hamn i Senja the way you want:

Northern lights photo tour

You will be guided by car to the places where the Northern lights can be seen and photgraphed with Senja nature on the background. You can borrow a camera or tripod and your guide will be available to help you take the pictures.

Northern lights hiking/snowshoeing  

You go on a nightly hiking trip looking for the Northern lights. You will leave Hamn to see the lights at places in nature where there is no light pollution or noise. If there is no snow you will go hiking, with snow you will go snow shoeing.

Get an introduction to taking great photos of the Northern lights. The guides will help you with all your questions and tell you all you want to know about Aurora Borealis.

Hire a Northern Lights guide (pay per hour)

If you are interested in learning more about the science how Northern lights are created, the tales about them or learn how to take photos but don't want to go on a tour, you could hire a Northern lights guide to show you around.

Fjord sightseeing & wildlife safari

Go out with a guide and discover the fjords and nature around Senja. The cool air and salty water that comes with the white beaches of crushed sea shells will be a perfect place to walk and look at the mountains. With some luck you might see some animals too such as seals, eagles and sea birds. 

Fishing trip with personal fish guide (optional)

Join an organised fishing trip. A guide, fishing gear and hot drinks are included. Enter the rich waters of Senja and try to catch some fish yourself. Each season offers a different kind of fish like Arctic cod, halibut, saithe, haddock, catfish or coastal cod. The fishing tour lasts 3-3,5 hours. 3-4 persons can fish at the same time. You will learn how to prepare the fish, and fry it for a fresh taste of the catch.

Snowshoe tour

There are two different types of snowshoe tours, one for beginners and one for advanced.

Soft adventure: You will be introduced to walking in snow. After a short ride to the destination you will slowly walk and enjoy the quite surroundings. During the walk you will stop to look at the view or to drink something. The duration of this walk is 3-4 hours.

Excursion: For this trip you need a good physical condition because you will be out a bit longer and the path is a bit more demanding. Enjoy a beautiful scenery filled with mountains, snow and wild life. You are traveling approximately 30-40 minutes by car to reach the destination where you will walk 5-7 hours.
