Scott Portelli - Waterproof Ambassador
As an award winning underwater cinematographer, Scott has travelled the world extensively photographing in some of the most remote destinations, including the Arctic, Antarctica, Galapagos, Azores, Africa and the South Pacific. As a wildlife photographer he spent hundreds of days in pursuit of different wildlife and been privileged to be up close and personal with many creatures.
He was awarded at the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the year in London in 2016 and announced National winner of the Sony World Photography awards 2016 and winner at Travel Photographer of the Year 2015. More recently he was awarded winner in the Animal Behaviour Category at the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year ANZANG 2017. His conservation documentary also took out 2 awards at the prestigious French Underwater Film Festival in Marseille.
An accredited licensed RPAS/UAV Pilot, Scott has worked on aerial projects for some of Australia’s most sort out tourism destinations. Working in extreme conditions, Scott’s photography and filming credits show above and below the surface.
Scott runs photography workshops and lectures to show enthusiasts and experts alike the best way to get the most out of their photography.
The last decade he worked with Humpback whales photographing and filming their behaviour above and below the waves. He received a number of internationally acclaimed awards with works appearing in a multitude of magazines and publications including BBC’s ‘Life’ series book and various documentaries on Australian and New Zealand Television. Scott is true Waterproof Ambassador and you will always see him in his favorite Waterproof suit. He loves to share his passion for underwater and wildlife photography and gives the best tips and techniques for photographing in challenging locations on various Waterproof Expeditions.
