Aniek has been working in the travel industry in Belgium and the Netherlands for almost 15 years, and is passionate about online marketing and travel. Already from a very young age she knew she wanted to work in travel. Aniek: "In summer I need the sea and in winter snow. As a kid I could already spend hours in the sea snorkeling, looking for fish and other marine animals below the surface. Discovering the underwater world is by far the most exciting part of any trip for me. Recently I finally got my diving certificate! This opens up a whole new world of opportunities to explore our blue ocean. I simply can't imagine me working in any other industry than travel."

At Waterproof Expeditions, Aniek manages the marketing and social media activities of the company. On a daily basis she inspires and informs potential customers with the beautiful journeys Waterproof has to offer. Recently she joined an expedition cruise to Northern Norway and travelled to the Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica on board expedition ship Hondius.
